Gateway Exam

The Gateway exam will consist of ten randomly chosen problems about integration from the attached list of 100 problems. To pass the examination, you must do at least nine problems without any mistakes. You are encouraged not to simplify your answers; if you do choose to simplify, the simplification must be error-free. If you fail to pass the exam, you will be allowed to retake it. When you successfully complete the gateway exam, you will receive 100 points toward the final grade. If you are unable to pass the exam before the cut-off date, you will receive no points.

Rules

  1. The gateway exam will not be a timed test; you may take as long as you need (up to the time the testing room closes).
  2. You can only take the exam twice per week.
  3. You will not be allowed to use notes, books, or a calculator when taking the exam.
  4. You must show your KU ID and give the name of your instructor.
  5. The last day to take the exam is October 29, 2003.
  6. The first day to take the exam is Friday, September 5, in class, with time restriction to 25 minutes.

Where and when to take the exam

Location: 324 Strong. You have to ask for the 122 Gateway Exam.

 Times: Monday through Thursday, 7:30am-7:30pm

Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, starting from September 8.

(These times will guarantee you at least 90 minutes to spend on the exam.)

Important: Blackout Dates

You will not be able to take the exam on these days.
